Sunday Social

Clearly, I don't act like an adult most of the time, now.

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?
Umm, everything!  Haha, no I am kidding, kind of.
This calls for a bulleted list:
  • Sundays at my Mammaw and Papaw's house
  • Sleepovers
  • Eating whatever I wanted
  • Living without a care
  • Changing my career daily based on whatever I was pretending to be
  • The tire swing at my aunt's house (it isn't there anymore)
  • Camping and 4-wheeling (<does that make me a redneck?)
  • Being able to ride every ride at the county fair and NOT get sick.
  • Cartoons
  • TGIF, does anyone remember that on Friday nights?  My family always ordered pizza and settled in for the night.
  • With that being said, the following TV shows: Full House, Boy Meets World, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Family Matters.
  • This pretty much sums me and my childhood up.
2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?
K-K- Dad's family
Punkie- Dad
Katie-did- Papaw

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?

Let me first start by saying recess equipment used to be a lot more dangerous.  I loved the death wheel aka the Merry-Go-Round.  We would run as fast as we could to get it going as fast as our little legs could manage and then try to jump on.  Lord forbid you fall, because you were sure to be pummeled.

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A teacher mostly, but I was ALWAYS pretending to be different things.

5. Did you participate in any school activities?

Dance Team, Tennis Team, and Cross Country.

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?

I don't know that it is funny, but it is something I distinctly remember and something that gets talked about all the time, still.  The time I fell asleep under the bed and no one could find me and everyone panicked.

  4. Stopping over from Sunday Social :) I totally remember TGIF. I miss that! Friday was always family night and my parents would pass out at like 8pm and my brother and I would stay up and be scandalous and watch like "20/20" and feel like rebels. The good old days...

  13. I loved the Merry Go Round. We used to run really fast and jump on. The fun really started when we jumped off too. Much fun and boo-boos to be had on the playground.

  19. Yay TGIF! I loved Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and still watch the reruns. Your merry-go-round story cracked me up. They took ours out at school because the boys used to play your game and someone broke an arm or leg. The one at the park was still there though so they got to try again in a setting with even less supervision. ;-)
